Dogfish Head & Sierra Nevada: Life and Limb – Ep. 105

This week it’s yet another beer that defies style – Life and Limb. A collaboration beer between Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada, Life and Limb is a big complex beer that tastes like nothing we’ve tried in the past. It also is brewed using local ingredients from both the Calagione family farm and Grossman family “farm”. A true delight to drink, we want to thank Sam Calagione for sending us one of his last remaining bottles for this episode!

I have two bottles of Life & Limb aging in the fridge. I intend not to open them for a couple of years. Cheers!

I just toured the Brewery in Milton and got to drink World Wide Stout at the brew pub. Sam is a genius!

  • Cory Said,

Maple syrup is pretty much 100% fermentable and contributes almost no flavor.

  • David Said,

I wasn’t able to get any “Life and Limb” but did bring back some “Wrath of Pecant” and “My Antonia” (plus four bottles of their craft distilled spirits). All excellent.

  • David Said,

Sam had a few bottles of beer on his desk in Milton and “Life and Limb” was one of them … it’s definitely a special beer.
