If you’re afraid of the bitter beer taste that IPA’s sometimes carry but still love a big hoppy beer, Weyerbacher Brewing Company has a solution for you with their Double Simcoe! Simcoe is a hybrid hop variety that was developed in 2000 by Select Botanicals Group LLC to provide great hop flavor without the harsh aftertaste . We were certainly surprised by this excellent brew!

Good technical information, entertaining, and I learned something.

I LOVE this beer! Simcoe is one of my favorite hops and this beer uses Simcoe exclusively, bittering, taste and aroma.

Nothing goes better with your coffee early on Saturday morning than catching up on the Beer America TV episodes. As always, good stuff well presented. Good peeps, good beer. Simcoe IIPA? Hmmm. (lip smack, smack). Definitely a sipper, one of these and the yardwork is done for the day. Best wait until after you’ve trimmed the hedges and put up all the sharp\pointy tools. Yep, a trip to my favorite waterin hole will be in order sometime later today.

Good discussion of the difference between IBU rating and the actual taste of a beer. Great site, and great video. Though I have to admit, putting that beer up to the camera and inviting us to take in the aroma was cruel… 🙂 Enjoying your vids, thanks guys!
