In 2008 I launched BeerAmerica.TV as a way to get my love and creative passion for American Craft beer out to the masses who feel like I do, but the concept for BeerAmerica.TV was born many years ago. In 2003 I was traveling a lot doing shows for HGTV, and every city and town I went to, I would ask what their local beer was, and 9 times out of 10, I would get an answer. So I thought about this and one day while stuck in Washington DC traffic, I decided to write a TV show pilot called Beer America to finally bring beer to TV
. Long story short, I met Sam Calagione a few months later and it wasn’t long before we struck up a friendship and shot a pilot episode to shop to cable networks. needless to say, the reception was luke warm as beer wasn’t “wine” and “who would be interested in a show about beer”? So, it never came to be on TV, hence, www.BeerAmerica.TV was born!
I have big plans for BATV in the coming year and it goes well beyond sitting around and talking about American Craft beer. As you will see in a few days, stories about the brewers and their beers is really what this site was meant to be about – check out the piece we did on the 5 Seasons Brewery in Atlanta or the Rohrbach Brewery in Rochester NY. Our goal is to produce more videos like these throughout the entire United States. Needless to say we need sponsorship and funding to do this, which I am working on everyday! What separates us from the other sites is that we have a seasoned TV Producer, a working Brewmaster and several industry insiders connected to the entire industry from the inside. WE CAN bring you the best of the industry better then anyone.
When we launched, there were about 3 sights that blogged about beer using video, today, I can find about 10 and counting – some are good and some are not, but the point is, we are all taking advantage of the web 2.0 platform and promoting beer. Cheers to ALL of them for their efforts, and with any luck, maybe we can help each other bring the beer scene to all of you who visit our sites.
Many thanks to those who come to BeerAmerica.TV regularly, please spread the word as sponsorship doesn’t come without the “clicks” attached to the site. Also, please leave comments on how we can make the site better, I’m always listening, and want to make your visit enjoyable.
So heres to a great 2009 – and Cheers to all of you!

Paul,
Cheers to you and your beer adventures! I absolutely love what you are doing … combining the art of craft beer with multiple social media platforms. Your episodes have been very entertaining and informative, thus far. I look forward to viewing many more in the coming year! Perhaps one day I will take a road trip up to Atlanta and join you boys for an episode? Eventually, I would also like to add video to my blog and may turn to you and your crew for advice (if you be so inclined).
Thanks for making a strong beer impact on the social media world! Cheers!

Paul,
From a wine drinker, let me tell you that your sight has helped bring me over to the “dark side”. The “dark beer” side that is!! Your episodes are informative, and I’ll be on the lookout for some of that Clipper City (although my wife seems to think “Arrogant Bastard” is more my style). Keep it up!
