Oskar Blues and Sun King: Chaka, Ep. 170

Beer America TV loves collaboration beers, but this week is extra special featuring a CANlaboration! Leave it to the craft-beer-in-a-can innovators Oskar Blues Brewery, to team up with Sun King Brewing Company, to produce the first American Craft beer in a re-sealable can!! Chaka is a Belgian Style Ale brewed with Shagbark Hickory Syrup and a special yeast blend to make this one time release an awesome overall experience….or is it a one time release? Watch to find out!

  • Tom Said,

Your discussion about the resealable can headed exactly to why I want it: I don’t want to drink 12 to 16 ounces of a 7%+ ABV beer in one sitting. It’s just my personal preference with big beers. I recap bottles all the time for finishing the next day. Yes, the carbination flattens and (I guess) the flavor changes. But I don’t drink these beers for their carbination, and the changes in taste are just part of the journey for me. So for an oddball like me, this resealable can is great! Bring ’em on! And John’s idea of it being a mini growler is super!
