Heavy Seas, Prosit! – Ep. 112

OK, in October, it seems everyone is coming out with an Octoberfest of some sort, well not Heavy Seas. This week we dive into a serious dose of PROSIT! by Clipper City Heavy Seas series. This is a full bodied malty glass full of goodness, with serious a backbone of grains and a few hops thrown in for good measure! Besides good info on this beer, John Pinkerton lets you in a on a little secret on what you can find in the Hofbrauhaus bathrooms!

  • Marco Said,

I poured myself an American Brown watching the show.
Not quite the same but it’s one of my maltier beers.

    Thanks for the show!
    Good job as always.

    PROST!!!

  • David Said,

The lower alcohol line of beers at Heavy Seas is now called “The Clipper Fleet” (http://www.hsbeer.com/beers/clipper-fleet). The Märzen (http://www.hsbeer.com/marzen) is in this group and an excellent year-round, lower-alcohol, version of Prosit!

  • Edmond M. Said,

Heavy Seas makes some great beer. Hopefully you were able to try The Great Pumpkin and The Great’er Pumpkin (Barrel Aged). Those are two of my favorites along with Below Decks Barleywine.
Also David more to your point. They actually have three fleets
Pyrate Fleet: Bottle Conditioned, beers typically in the 7-8%abv
    Mutiny Fleet: Beers over 8%
    Clipper Fleet: Beer below 6%
